Today I ran into an old professor of mine, Dr. Andreu. She was my English 102 professor, and hands down one of my favorites at Flagler. I was reading for Anthropology and she walked past me, so we caught up. She is excited about having to incorporate new lessons into her courses, as she’s started teaching Keystone courses (what even are those, really?). When I wanted to start a human rights club at the school, I went to her first; unfortunately, her husband was sick and she simply didn’t have the time. Her husband passed away fairly recently, and my heart broke for her. She lives on my street, so I shot her an email offering company or anything. I really adore this woman.
Anyway, she was curious to know my plans post-college, as I’m done in December. When I told her my intentions to join the Peace Corps, she was so excited for me. She told me she was certain my parents are proud of me, and they must be so happy for me (ohhhh if only she knew!). We discussed our thoughts on the Lincolnville Farmer’s Market (equally smitten), and she talked a little bit about how she is including Locke and Rousseau into her lesson plans.
I don’t know the point of this, except to say I really love that I go to such a tiny school. I’ve had some of the best professors.
